Values

Joy and Peace

Joy and peace are our inherent natures and it is everyone’s birthright to experience joy and peace.

Community

Communities unite people, allowing individual and collective healing, expression and a place where our cultural histories are seen.

The Arts as a Healing Force

Brasil in Motion values a healthy mind, body and spirit and the healing role the arts play in transforming life’s challenges, awakening our histories, our cultures and beliefs, and moving us toward our individual and collective healing.

Inter-connectedness of Humanity

Brasil in Motion values the belief that we are all connected by something larger than ourselves, something that we cannot necessarily see, but is inherent in every human being. Celebrating the arts in a community setting allows us to connect with ourselves, with each other, and with this greater essence.

Diversity

Brasil in Motion values and respects the integrity and equality of all cultures, races, religions, ages, and gender preferences. Recognition of the unique beauty of diversity allows us to celebrate our differences, while working towards equality.

Nature

Preservation of our earth is integral to our existence and spiritual growth. The study of Afro-Brazilian dance, music and Capoeira is intrinsically linked to the elements of nature.  Spending time in and moving with the rhythms of nature supports our journeys toward healing and growth.
