Collaborations

Brasil In Motion provides performances, education and outreach centered around Afro-Brazilian cultural heritage and the diversity of dance and music traditions throughout Brazil.  Our events are designed to create a unique opportunity for participants to experience Brazil’s vibrant music and dance through the lens of its history and people. Brasil In Motion’s performances and workshops are dynamic, engaging and encourage audience participation.

Brasil in Motion collaborates with local arts organizations and invited guest artists to build cross-cultural bridges through the transformational power of the arts.  Through these creative partnerships, we connect, heal and celebrate our shared humanity.

Thank you both so much for cultivating a space that is a shining example of what the spirit of this art form (dance) is truly about.

When people dance together we become a beautifully expressive family. When we dance with Brasil in Motion the family connection feels instantaneous. Whether we are dancing in our Orcas Island home port or in Seattle the connection becomes contagious and we all simply want more, more, more!

– Tiffany Loney, Outreach Coordinator, Orcas Center

Daniel and Aileen are so thoughtful and thorough in their preparations - every detail is cared for…they weave together movement, context, and personal experience to provide an incredibly rich experience. My students were especially moved to learn from Daniel about his deep lived experience with these dances of Brazil. Thank you for the gift of your knowledge, professionalism, and care!
